This day was a bit lousy until about 11 at night when I checked my email and saw that I made my first etsy sale! Wee hoo! I’m very pleased, especially since I am about to leave for vacation, which leads me to the topic of ….
Travel journals.
I am headed to Omaha, NE with the boyfriend on Thursday to go to the College World Series and see family. I am super pumped. I get to show him where I grew up and enjoy the CWS, and the ZOO! I’d love to capture our trip in a way other than snapping 5 thousand pictures. I’m thinking of making a travel journal. This one in Cracked Designs’ etsy shop is very cute:

Love that idea! I need to brainstorm some creative travel journal ideas. Here I go!
XOXO
Tonight I was feelin’ a little patriotic and decided to make a red, white, and blue necklace. Just in time for the 4th of July! One of my favorite times of year…fireworks, grilling, days spent in the sun.

I adore it! I just put it into my Etsy shop here.
XOXOXO
Hello all. I’ve spent the last few days on the living room floor with trays and trays of beads sprawled everywhere. I’ve been making bracelets (and two necklaces) like a mad woman! I got a little carried away. To show you what I mean, heres “a few” of the pieces I made:

My plan is to open up a shop on Etsy and try and sell some of these puppies! Here is a little sneak preview of some of the goods:

I’ve basically just been experimenting with different chains and beads and wires and doodads and whatchamacallits. Its awesome when they come out looking like a real piece of jewelry! I hope to have them added to my shop sometime later this week. I’ll have more updates about that later!!
ALRIGHTY! So I’ve been gone for much more than a little while. I’d say a long while. I guess I just fell off the blogging wagon. To sum up the past few months: papers, exams, beach. Not too shabby. I recently discovered mounds of beads in my house and decided to start making bracelets. I am planning on selling some on Etsy. I’m also currently collecting materials for a DIY chandelier! I’ll be updating more soon. I just wanted to write a little somethin somethin tonight while I was thinking of it. I’d really like to get this blog back in action!!!
XOXO
I’ve been neglecting my blog!!! I’ve been busy at school.
But tomorrow I go home and I’ll be doing some cupcake baking, egg decorating, as well as decorating a jewelry box, so those will be up over the weekend!
As for now here are some Easter pictures to get you in the spirit:

This is awesome.
I’m making cupcakes like this tomorrow.

Spring Break has sprung and..oh whats that? I have a draft of a research proposal due Monday? I have done literally NO research? JOY! Since I’ve spent most of my week going to dentist appointments, goofing off, and reading the Time Traveler’s Wife (I cried), it looks like I’ll be spending the next 3 days furiously researching and writing about the effects of stress and social support on life satisfaction. I’ll let you know how THAT goes. As for now, this post will be short and sweet due to the previously stated reason AND because I am about to take a nap until the right side of my face de-numbs. I had my first ever cavities filled today and I am now aware that I am not the biggest fan of novocaine. Ick.
Topic of the day: BUCKET LIST!
Lately I’ve been thinking about making a bucket list. I’ve decided periodically I’ll post one thing to be added to my bucket list..and I’m hoping to start an altered book/dream journal with that as the theme. So for the first item on my list…
#1
Feed a giraffe!
I think they have won the title of my favorite animal. I feel like I can relate to them a little bit..I’m tall, I like trees (not to eat, but same thing).

It looks like so much fun!
Okaygottarunbye!
Thanks for reading :)
Look what I found at Target for a buck:

Yes I get excited over small things. They are cute though! How are cupcakes not the best thing ever? I just love them. Not even because they are delicious (which they are) and I have the biggest sweet tooth ever (which I do)..they are just too darn cute. If I am having a bad day, and I see a cupcake, I am instantaneously happy.
This brings us to a montage of cupcakes. Duh.. Enjoy!:

I wonder if thats real sprinkles or just glitter? I saw some “shimmer sprinkles” or something like that once.

I’m doing this the next time I make cupcakes.

HOW PRESH.

He knows what’s good.

I like to consider myself somewhat artsy. At least I like to think I am. I mean I am a psych major but I ALMOST applied to art school. Since every artist needs an inspiration board, and I decided that I’m maybe probably possibly most likely making this blog about art/craft/cupcake type things, I thought that a good first project would be to make an inspiration board! I actually found an old memory board lying around the house and did a little renovation.
I ripped all the old fabric off (it was dark green) and all the ribbon (dark green) and kept the pins (guess what color…pink! just kidding, dark green). Which left me with:

Some pretty pins and a bulletin board.
I headed my booty to Goodwill and found this pretty curtain for five bucks:

Ooh la la! (I actually didn’t realize it was a curtain until I got home. I’m pretty sure I thought it was just some really stiff bed sheets.)
Next stop, AC Moore to get some ribbon and paint for those pins. This is what I ended up with:

I gave the pins a fresh paint job:

And after some wresting with fabric, bulletin board and super glue, almost having to surgically removing my hands from one another, then realizing that this job could be handled with a stapler, the finished piece emerged :

Bon appetit.
And it looks so pretty on my wall!!!

I rate this 50% more exciting than my last post. Now I’m definitely ready to get my creativity on.
While I was up in the wee hours of the morning, scrolling through a random and super cute blog I came across, I thought to myself, Hey I want a blog! Cut to 18 hours later and here I am …with a blog. I have no idea what I want this to be about. Well, I sort of do. I’m thinking some artsy-crafty design type stuff with maybe some cupcakes and some random stories thrown in here or there. Maybe. But really I’m the most indecisive person in the universe, so who knows. Maybe it will be about my indecisiveness. Hmm…
I guess I will start off this random indecisive blog with a little ditty about my first ever experience with tea-staining (if that’s the correct terminology).
Step one: find shirt I wore once and then ruined by washing with dark clothes (I’m smart) resulting in a weird grey-ish white old shirt color.
(you can’t really see the grey-ish-ness in it here, but trust me)
Step 2: add some good ole tea bags.

Step 3: hang it up and take a pic.
LIKE THIS!
Okay, so not so exciting. I’m going to send it through a second time because it could be a little darker, and there are some white blotches.
Well, hopefully my future blog posts will have a little more excitement to them. As for now this is what you’re stuck with. :)
